System accounts

In the Secondary School Management System, all users access the platform through a single, unified login page. Upon successful login, the system intelligently directs each user to their appropriate dashboard or main page, based on their assigned role within the school. This streamlined approach ensures ease of access and provides a tailored experience that suits each user's responsibilities and needs.

There are 5 different accounts in this system:

  1. Head
  2. Teacher
  3. Student
  4. Parent
  5. Bursar * (not complete)

1. Head teacher account

In this System, the head teacher holds the superadmin account — the highest level of access within the platform. This role is designed to give the head teacher full control over critical aspects of school management, empowering them to oversee all student, staff, and system-related activities from a single, secure account.

As superadmin, the head teacher has access to the following key tasks:

  1. Manage Students: The superadmin can add, update, and archive student profiles, handle class assignments, and monitor student progress. This ensures that all student information is accurate and up-to-date.

  2. Manage Staff: The superadmin can manage the school’s staff records, including adding or modifying teacher profiles, assigning subject responsibilities, and managing departmental affiliations.

  3. View Results: The head teacher has complete access to student academic performance records. This includes reviewing and analyzing exam results, class performance summaries, and identifying trends in student achievement.

  4. System Settings: As the superadmin, the head teacher can customize system settings to match the school’s unique needs. This includes adjusting academic terms, setting up grading scales, configuring role permissions, and overseeing system security.

By combining these tasks within the superadmin account, the system provides the head teacher with a comprehensive view and full administrative control, ensuring that they can make informed decisions, support staff and students effectively, and keep the system aligned with school goals and policies.

2. Teacher account

The Teacher Account in the Secondary School Management System is designed to support teachers in their primary responsibilities, from managing student registrations for specific subjects to evaluating academic performance and contributing to student growth. Each teacher has access to a suite of tools that allows them to oversee and manage their assigned classes and subjects, record scores, and interact with students’ academic records.

Some of these duties and tasks are only available to teachers who are allocated by the head teacher.

Key responsibilities for a teacher account include:

  1. Subjects to Student Registration: Teachers can register students for their specific subjects, helping to organize class rosters and ensure accurate record-keeping for each subject. This feature allows teachers to keep track of enrolled students and manage class lists with ease.

  2. Manage Scores: Teachers are responsible for recording and updating student scores across various assessments, including quizzes, midterms, final exams, and other coursework. This functionality allows teachers to document student performance in real-time, ensuring that grades are accurately captured and accessible for student evaluations.

  3. Write Class Teacher Comments: Teachers can provide personalized feedback for each student, writing class teacher comments that reflect their observations on a student’s academic and behavioral progress. These comments offer valuable insights to both students and parents, helping guide improvements and recognizing strengths.

  4. Manage Departments: In some cases, teachers may be assigned department management tasks, allowing them to oversee the structure and functionality of specific academic departments. This includes managing department resources, coordinating with other teachers, and ensuring alignment with school-wide educational standards and policies.

With these responsibilities, the teacher account supports educators in delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining organized records, and contributing to a comprehensive view of each student’s educational journey. This role-based access allows teachers to focus on their specific teaching and administrative tasks while contributing to the overall management and success of the school.
